PE Activity #32 - "Bootball"
OVERVIEW:
A great alternative for kickball that emphasises strategy and cardiorespiratory fitness!
EQUIPMENT:
Soccer ball Frisbee Tennis racket Cones Hoop
SETUP:
Place equipment in the hoop and create a large circle with cones 10 x 10m
INSTRUCTIONS:
Divide players into 2 teams
One team (running) lines up behind the hoop with equipment inside it
The other team (fielding) spreads out around the field
The running team takes turns kicking the soccer ball, throwing the frisbee and hitting the tennis ball, as soon as the 3rd item is dispatched, they start running around the circle of cones.
Every time the runner gets back to the start point that gains 1 point
The fielding team must stay still until the 3rd item is dispatched, and then they must gather all 3 items and return them to the hoop to stop play. BUT they must kick or dribble the soccer ball, throw the frisbee and throw the tennis ball.
Repeat until all runners have had 1 go and then swap
MAKE IT EASIER:
Smaller circle or cones Less equipment
MAKE IT HARDER:
Larger circle of cones More equipment
