PE Activity #45 - "Smash the Pumpkin"
Overview:
Celebrate Halloween with is insanely fun warmup activity for PE! It's called 'Smash the Pumpkin' and your students will love it. Perfect for any throwing or upper body sports.
Equipment:
Large inflatable fitness ball
1 tennis ball each
Setup:
Split group into 2 teams
each team lines up on the baseline with 1 tennis ball each
Instructions:
The aim of the game is to throw the tennis balls and hit the fitness ball (Pumpkin) to knock it over the opposing team's baseline
Students can only throw from behind the baseline, however, they can run anywhere in their half to retrieve balls
Players can't touch the Pumpkin Changes
Make it easier:
Make it easier by bringing students to the 3rd lines
Making harder:
Make it harder by saying underarm throws only or adding a timer
